December gas price survey shows increases locally with a slight decrease across Washington
Gas prices in Whatcom County and Bellingham have increased again this month, but we found the cheapest gas station in Whatcom County for you to save at the pump.
The average price of a gallon of gas across the United States was $3.03 on Tuesday, Dec. 3, according to AAA — 7 cents less than last month’s average.
Here’s the breakdown:
Washington gas prices
Washington’s average cost of gas per gallon is now $3.99 — a 4-cent decrease from November’s average of $4.03. Last December, gas averaged $4.33 a gallon in Washington, 34-cents above the current average, according to AAA.
Washington has the third-highest gas prices in the country, following California at $4.40 a gallon and Hawaii at $4.56 a gallon, according to AAA.
Whatcom County gas prices
Whatcom County’s average cost of gas is $3.88 a gallon, a 3-cent increase compared to November.
On Tuesday, Dec. 3, Bellingham’s average gallon of gas cost $3.89, according to AAA, a 4-cent increase from last month’s average of $3.85.
