Whatcom County gas prices drop; Washington maintains nation’s third-highest state average
Gas prices in Whatcom County and Washington have decreased this month, and we found the cheapest gas station in Whatcom County for you to save at the pump.
The average price of a gallon of gas across the United States was $3.20 on Tuesday, Oct. 1, according to AAA — 13 cents less than last month’s average.
Gas prices in Washington and Whatcom County also fluctuated this month. Here’s the breakdown:
Washington gas prices
Washington state’s average cost of gas per gallon is now $4.03 — a 13-cent decrease from September’s average of $4.16. Last October, gas averaged $5.13 a gallon in Washington, $1.10 above the current average, according to AAA.
Washington has the third-highest gas prices in the country, following California at $4.68 a gallon and Hawaii at $4.60 a gallon, according to AAA.
Whatcom County gas prices
Whatcom County’s average cost of gas is $3.79 a gallon, a 21-cent decrease compared to September.
On Tuesday, Oct. 1, Bellingham’s average gallon of gas cost $3.79, according to AAA, a 25-cent decrease from last month’s average of $4.04.
