Bellingham’s PeaceHealth St. Joseph Center nationally recognized for quality heart care
Bellingham’s PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center has been recognized by the American Heart Association for it’s “efforts to improve outcomes for Americans with heart disease and stroke,” according to a July 22 news release from the association.
The association recognized 47 hospitals across Washington state and 3,000 nationwide.
“Each year, the American Heart Association recognizes hospitals across the country for consistently following up-to-date, research-based guidelines to ensure all patients have access to lifesaving care,” the news release states.
The recognition also includes hospitals that participate in the American Heart Association’s “Get With The Guidelines” program, a program focused on adherence and implementation of the latest research-driven guidelines in medical practices, and providing data to professionals to improve patient care.
“Heart disease and stroke are the No. 1 and No. 5 causes of death in the United States, respectively. These health crises require swift and proven treatment to ensure the best outcomes for patients,” the news release states.
PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham was the only Whatcom County hospital recognized this year by the association.
PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center is open 24 hours daily at 2901 Squalicum Pkwy in Bellingham.
