Gas prices drop in Whatcom County; Washington remains third most expensive state

The average price of a gallon of gas across the United States was $3.50 on Monday, July 8, according to AAA — 3 cents less than last month’s average.
Gas prices in Washington and Whatcom County also fluctuated this month. Here’s the breakdown:
Washington gas prices
Washington state’s average cost of gas per gallon is now $4.29 — a 12-cent decrease from June’s average of $4.41. Last July, gas averaged $4.96 a gallon in Washington, 67 cents above the current average, according to AAA.
Washington has the third-highest gas prices in the country, following California at $4.79 a gallon and Hawaii at $4.68 a gallon, according to AAA.

Whatcom County’s average cost of gas per gallon
is $4.10 a gallon, a 31-cent decrease compared to June.
On Monday, July 8, Bellingham’s average gallon of gas costs $4.10, according to AAA, a 9-cent decrease from last month’s average of $4.19.
