Bellingham’s Summer Concert Series in the Parks lines up free live music starting June 20

The Sleepy Alligators play tunes by the Grateful Dead from 6-8 p.m. Thursday in a free, family-friendly concert at Elizabeth Park in the Columbia neighborhood. Professional ASL interpreter Lori Abrams will interpret. She has interpreted live concerts since 1992 for the Grateful Dead’s deaf audiences throughout the country. Sleepy Alligators also play at 6 p.m. Friday at Boundary Bay Brewery, 1107 Railroad Ave.

Bellingham’s Summer Concerts in the Parks series is back in 2024 and kicks off its live music lineup next week on Thursday, June 20.

The free concert series will host a variety of live bands and music groups from June 20 through August 23 on Thursdays and Fridays at Boulevard Park and Elizabeth Park.

Here is the concert line-up for the 2024 series.

Elizabeth Park concerts:

June 20: North Sound Soul, a horn-driven soul, funk & rock group

June 27: SpaceBand, a old-school dance covers and new classics band

July 4: Mary Ellen Lykins and the CC Adams Band, a rock and blues group

July 11: Flattery, a Celtic group

July 18: Dana Lyons, an Americana style singer-songwriter

July 25: Sweet Goodbyes, a folk and pop group

August 1: Brie Mueller Band, a pop, rock, blues, and country band

August 8: Millie and The Mentshn, a Klezmer and world music group

August 15: Unknowns, a blues and jazz group

August 22: bandZandt, a dance band

Boulevard Park concerts:

June 28: GrooveBot, a high energy funk group

July 26: County Rose, a Pacific Northwest country and Americana music band

August 23: North Sound Soul, a Bellingham-based soul, rock and funk 9-piece band

All concerts run from 6 to 8 p.m. at both parks. Boulevard Park is at 470 Bayview Dr. in Bellingham. Elizabeth Park is at 2205 Elizabeth St. in Bellingham.

The concert series is put on by Bellingham Parks and Recreation, The Eldridge Society for History & Preservation and Coldwell Banker Bain-Bellingham, according to the event’s website.
