Just after midnight on Monday a vehicle slammed into the side of the Slice of Heaven Bakery in Bellingham on North Samish Way.

Before barreling into the bakery, the vehicle ran through the outside fence and seating area and collided with the building, co-owner Marci Abshire said.

Megan Peters with the Bellingham Police Department said the driver was treated. No details on possible injuries were provided.

The collision forced Slice of Life to close through Wednesday, although Abshire said they plan to open again Thursday.
