Bellingham rent prices increase again, but these parts of Whatcom County have lower prices

Rental homes and apartment listing prices in Bellingham increased last month, according to rental housing data companies.

Zumper reported that the August median price of $1,475 for a one-bedroom Bellingham apartment was up 1.7% from July’s median price of $1,450.

August’s median price of $1,310 for studio apartment listings was 1.2% increase compared to July’s median price of $1,294. August’s median price of $1,861 for two-bedroom listings also increased 1% from July’s median price of $1,842.

Bellingham rent prices by ZIP code

If you are looking for an affordable rental in Bellingham, looking in the 98225 ZIP code could save you $300 a month compared with 98226’s median rental prices.

RentHub reports median rental listing prices for houses, multiplexes and apartments of all sizes. Prices in June:

Decreased in the 98225 ZIP code from July’s average of $1,950 to $1,800 in August.

Increased in the 98226 ZIP code from July’s average of $2,075 to $2,100 in August.

Whatcom County rent prices

Rent prices also vary by zip code across Whatcom County. In August 2023, the 98225 zip code had the lowest median rent prices in Whatcom County at $1,850, compared to the highest prices in the 98230 zip code of $2,295.

Increased by 6.6% in the 98226 zip code.

Had 0% change in the 98225 zip code.

Decreased by 7% in the 98229 zip code.

Decreased by 2.8% in the 98248 zip code.

Decreased by 15.5% in the 98264 zip code.

Decreased by 18% in the 98230 zip code.
