Looking for a fun way to celebrate Father’s Day this weekend? Check out these local events.

Axe throwing at Bellis Fair Mall

The Bellis Fair Mall is hosting a Father’s Day plastic axe-throwing event at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 17. Fathers and their kids can participate and earn raffle tickets for axe throwing, which will then be entered in a raffle drawing. The winners will be chosen the following week and contacted by phone. Prizes include a backyard axe throwing set, $25 gift cards to Buffalo Wild Wings and a $25 gift card to Cinnabon.

The first 100 fathers to participate will also recieve a Bellis Fair coffee mug. Bellis Fair Mall is at 1 Bellis Fair Parkway in Bellingham.

Father’s Day surf and turf at Lighthouse Grill

The Lighthouse Bar & Grill restaurant inside Hotel Bellwether is having a special Father’s Day Surf and Turf meal from 4-9 p.m. on Sunday, June 18.

The special menu includes prime rib, lobster and prawns. The Lighthouse Bar & Grill and Hotel Bellwether is at 1 Bellwether Way in Bellingham.

Father’s Day buffet at Chuckanut Bay Distillery

Chuckanut Bay Distillery’s Penny Farthing restaurant is hosting a special Father’s Day buffet from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 18. The menu includes prime rib, glazed baby back ribs, salads, rosemary potato wedges, shrimp penne pasta and desserts.

Tickets can be purchased in advance online, and cost $55 for adults, $25 for ages 10 and under, and children 5 and under can eat for free. Penny Farthing is at 1309 Cornwall Ave. in Bellingham.

Father’s Day car show at Bellewood Farms

Bellewood Farms is hosting a car show for Father’s Day, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 18. There will be over 200 classic and modified cars and trucks at the farm, and the bakery and cafe at Bellewood will be open for breakfast and lunch. The event is free and open to all ages. Visitors can also register to show their own cars at the show online. Bellewood Farms is at 6140 Guide Meridian Rd. in Lynden.

Bellingham Bells baseball game

The Bellingham Bells will have a home baseball game at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 18. The game is a “Family Funday Sunday” game, where kids 12 and under get free admission and can also enjoy activities such as a bounce house and character visits. Tickets can be purchased online in advance or at the ticket booth. The game is at Joe Martin Field at 1220 Civic Field Way in Bellingham.

Father’s Day paddleboarding and kayaking

A Father’s Day Paddle event will offer paddleboards, row boats and kayaks for participants to take through Bellingham Bay on Sunday, June 18. Dads can ride for free, but all other participants cost $30 each and must register online in advance. The boating will take off at the Community Boating Center at 555 Harris Ave.
