A Blaine woman who was severely injured by a hit-and-run driver in a crash south of Blaine last month has died, the Washington State Patrol said.

Ashleigh N. Woodward, 33, died at Harborview Medical Center of injuries suffered in a March 7 crash, the State Patrol said in an updated report sent Friday, April 14.

A GoFundMe account for Woodward had raised $8,390 of $25,000 goal on Friday.

Woodward was driving a 2007 Mazda 6 on Blaine Road south of Drayton Harbor Road when another driver tried to pass and forced Woodward to the right shoulder, where she hit two concrete barriers and was thrown from the car.

She wasn’t wearing a seat belt, according to the report.

A 13-year-old passenger, whose name was withheld because of her age, was injured and was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph Hospital in Bellingham.

The girl was wearing her seat belt.

No information was provided about the other driver, who didn’t stop after the wreck as required by law, according to the crash report.

Cause of the crash remains under investigation.
