New Fairhaven space allows this business to sell plants, expand to workshops and events

Babygreens plant shop has moved from downtown Bellingham to Fairhaven.

The plant store at 915 Harris Ave. will continue to sell a large and diverse selection of plants.

“We’ve been planning for a move to Fairhaven for a couple of years leading up to the move; we love the charm and vibrancy of Fairhaven, the retail community is strong, and the location is just so sweet. We really wanted to be a part of it and to reach some new folks who may have not known about us at our previous location,” Nick Meza, owner of babygreens wrote in an email to The Bellingham Herald.

The location change has inspired the shop to expand its product offerings in-store, with a variety of plants, as well as plant tools, pottery and home and wellness products. With the new space, the business is also hoping to do more workshops and events in the future, according to Meza.

But babygreens is more than just a plant shop, as the business also offers commercial and residential design, installation and maintenance services for those wanting custom greenscapes and planting.

“Our goal is to share our joy of houseplants to all our customers; making it fun and accessible regardless of how green anyone’s thumb may be. We’re proud of the shop we’ve built, and we’re super passionate about customer service; we strive to create an in-store experience that leaves customers feeling inspired and delighted during and after their visit,” Meza wrote.

Those who are interested in workshops or events can find updates online on the shop’s Facebook page.
