New Dungeons and Dragons tea shop, local foodie events, new beer and bunny adoptions

Here’s a roundup of the latest retail and restaurant activity around Whatcom County:

Tea and gaming shop

A new tea and Dungeons and Dragons shop had its grand opening on Friday, Jan. 13, in Bellingham. The shop, D&Tea, has been crafting brews since 2019 and has an online store full of various teas, but recently announced its brick-and-mortar location opening on a Facebook event listing.

The shop promises visitors tea in a dry speakeasy, as well as gaming space on their “massive D&D table,” according to the shop’s Facebook page.

The shop has no hours of operation listed online or on its Facebook page, but the shop is located at 2025 James St. in Bellingham.

New beer at Boundary

Boundary Bay Brewing Co. is back with another new beer with flavors of espresso, dark chocolate and caramel.

The new brew is currently on tap at the brewery, which is open from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and is at 1107 Railroad Ave. in Bellingham.

Fairhaven Chocolate Walk

The second annual Fairhaven chocolate walk is back this year from 1-5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, and tickets may sell out fast. Participants can stroll around Fairhaven to shop and enjoy various chocolates from 18 participating businesses.

Tickets can be purchased online through the Fairhaven Association and cost $30 per person, or $70 for couples, which includes two glasses or port or sparkling wine.

Spirit and Cider Stroll

The Bellingham Spirit and Cider Stroll will take place from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 9, where participants can walk through downtown Bellingham and sample local craft beverages at pop-up booths in various businesses. Local cideries and distilleries including Chuckanut Bay Distillery, Bellingham Cider Co., Orcas Island Distillery and Finn River Farms Cider will have samples.

Tickets cost $50 per person and include a tasting glass, 10 tastings and appetizers at each tasting location. Tickets can be purchased online, and participants can check in at 5 p.m. on Feb. 9 at Crown Plaza Lobby at 114 W. Magnolia St.

Rabbit Rescue Adoption Center

The Bunanza Rabbit Rescue Ranch and Adoption Center is a nonprofit organization in Lynden striving to help rabbits find new homes by offering 30% off adoption costs this month.

“Any bunny with any white anywhere on their body can be yours for 30% off our usual adoption fee,” according to a Facebook post from the company.

The rabbit ranch and adoption center is open by appointment, which can be made by calling 360-224-1886, and is located at 9837 Guide Meridian Road.
