This new private pediatrics practice opening in Bellingham
A new private medical practice is set to open and accept patients this month in Bellingham.
Fairhaven Pediatrics, located at 1100 Larrabee Ave., will be the only private-practice pediatrics office in Whatcom County, according to Dr. Amber Machin, who will begin booking appointments Oct. 12.
“The benefits of a private practice are I am able to set my hours and my patient panel size to ensure that I stay true to the mission and vision of Fairhaven Pediatrics,” Machin said in an email to The Bellingham Herald.
Mancin has over a decade of experience in pediatrics and comes to Whatcom after practicing medicine in Texas.
“I specifically chose a Fairhaven location because it has a true community feel, it is one of my favorite parts of town because it has so many wonderful local shops, artists, and restaurants,”
Mancin employed local artists during the office’s construction and each exam room will have a mural painted by a different local artist. The completed murals will be revealed at open houses 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 1-2.
“The murals represent different characteristics of Bellingham and Whatcom County,” she said. “Expect to see local wildlife, forests, mountains, and some recognizable landmarks represented.”
