This 342-foot ship makes a pit stop in Fairhaven. Here’s where it’s off to next

A cruise ship getting ready for the Alaska summer touring season has made a pit stop in Fairhaven.

On Monday morning, May 2, the Ocean Victory was docked at the Fairhaven Industrial Marine Repair Facility getting outfitted for the upcoming cruise season, said Mike Hogan, a spokesman for the Port of Bellingham.

The Ocean Victory is planning its first trip out of Vancouver, B.C. to Alaska on Friday, May 6, according to its website. The 12-day trip includes stops along the coast, eventually reaching Sitka, Alaska. It will start a similar trip again on Friday, May 27.

The ship, built in 2021, is 342 feet long and designed so that it is more environmentally sound by reducing noise and vibration. It has a crew of about 100, has 93 staterooms and takes 186 guests, according to the website.
