WWU releases sketch and asks for help identifying man’s body found on campus
Western Washington University released a sketch and is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man whose body was found earlier this month in a wooded area north of the Buchanan Towers North Residence Hall on WWU’s campus.
The man is described as a white male in his 20s, approximately 6-foot-3 and and 190 pounds, according to a Western campus advisory sent out Wednesday, March 25. He also had brown eyes and black hair, WWU spokesperson Paul Cocke told The Bellingham Herald in an email.
The man was located March 5 and is believed to have been dead 24 to 48 hours before then, Cocke reported.
Whatcom County Medical Examiner Dr. Gary Goldfogel determined the cause of death to be a suicide, but told The Bellingham Herald he and police were unable to identify the man.
University officials do not believe the man was a student at Western, according to the advisory.
People with any information about the man are asked to call WWU Police at 360-650-3555 and reference case No. 20-0148.
