Man’s body found in wooded area near WWU residence hall
Western Washington University reported that the body of a male in his mid 20s was found Thursday afternoon in a wooded area north of the Buchanan Towers residence hall. No foul play is suspected at this time.
WWU released information about the body in an alert to students and staff at 3:21 p.m. March 5. The identity of the man has not yet been released.
According to the alert, university police were notified about the body at 1:58 p.m. near the Sehome Arboretum. The Bellingham Fire Department was called to the scene on Bill McDonald Parkway at 2:01 p.m., according to the PulsePoint app.
The cause of death will be determined by the Whatcom County Medical Examiner, the alert said. University police are continuing to investigate.
