Chocolate is nice, but the eggs you want to find this year around Bellingham jingle

Remember how the best plastic Easter eggs you could find weren’t the ones filled with candy, but instead had a handful of quarters? Well, this is kind of like that, but now you want key chains.

R.B. Wick, Bellingham’s own year-round version of the Easter Bunny, announced via his Instagram account that he will host his second annual Bellingham Easter Egg Hunt beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 20.

Wick, who owns Bellingham Coin Shop & Iron Gate Estates and co-owns Casa Brothers Real Estate, has become famous for his community-oriented treasure hunts, with last year’s Easter Egg hunt and this year’s Valentine’s day hunt going viral on social media.

Saturday’s hunt, Wick said via an Instagram post, will feature eggs with $8,000 in coins, cash and prizes hidden all around Bellingham. Wick asks that when you find an egg, post pictures with your eggs and tag Casa Brothers and Bellingham Coin.

A second video post by Wick said that many eggs will have Casa Brothers key chains with bar codes attached to the back. If you find one of those, take it to Bellingham Coin Shop, 1806 Cornwall Ave. to have it scanned to claim a prize of between $5 and $3,000.

“Hopefully that will help you put a down payment on a house or help with the bills — whatever you want,” Wick said in the video.
