Eager for a trip to Hawaii? Alaska Airlines offers a plan as state lifts quarantine

With Hawaii ready to waive its 14-day quarantine rule, Alaska Airlines announced it is ramping up its flights and helping with a COVID-19 rapid test pop-up clinic for travelers in Seattle.

Alaska Airlines announced in a news release that it is partnering with Carbon Health to make rapid COVID-19 testing available at Carbon’s pop-up clinic at 220 6th Ave. North in Seattle. Starting Thursday, Oct. 15, Hawaii will allow out-of-state travelers to visit without the 14-day quarantine when they test negative for COVID-19 within 72 hours of their final leg of departure to Hawaii.

The cost for the Carbon Health test for Alaska Airlines travelers is $135 with results ready within two hours.

Alaska is gearing up for flights out of Seattle, with at least twice-daily flights to all four major Hawaiian islands starting Oct. 15.

“Our guests have been eager to return to the Hawaiian islands and we’re excited to be adding more ways to safely get them there,” said Sangita Woerner, Alaska’s senior vice president of marketing and guest experience. “By assisting our guests with convenient testing options as they prepare for their trip, we’re working together to help keep each other, and Hawaii, safe.”

In recent years Bellingham International Airport offered seasonal flights to Hawaii, but Alaska ended that service in 2019.
