Bellingham Chamber of Commerce event to explore business effects of Trump budget
Have you been wondering how President Donald Trump’s recently passed budget bill will affect Whatcom County?
The Bellingham Regional Chamber of Commerce is hosting a special event on Tuesday, Sept. 23 to explain how the bill will affect county residents, particularly local business owners.
“On July 4, 2025, the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB) was signed into law, delivering one of the most sweeping overhauls to the U.S. tax code in years,” according to an information page for the event. “With new deductions, expanded credits, and major changes to both business and individual tax rules, this legislation offers opportunities — but also challenges — for business owners who don’t plan ahead.”
The event will include guest speakers from VSH, a public CPA accounting office with locations in Bellingham and Burlington.
“Join Madison Price Zender and Matt Roetcisoender from VSH CPAs for an in-depth, business-focused webinar that unpacks the new tax landscape and highlights what you need to act on now. We’ll break down how the OBBB affects your operations, growth strategy and bottom line.”
The free event will be hosted remotely via Zoom and will run from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Registration for the event is available online at the Bellingham Regional Chamber of Commerce website.
