Fairhaven gift shop and visitor center announces permanent closure
Bay to Baker Trading Company, a gift shop full of Bellingham and Pacific Northwest-specific items and the Fairhaven Visitor Center, is permanently closing.
“Yes, unfortunately the rumors are true — we plan to close mid-September. Thank you to all that have stopped by already to tell us how much they have loved and appreciated our store and Visitor Center over the years,” Bay to Baker Trader Company stated in an Aug. 21 Facebook post and Instagram post.
“We will miss all our regular customers, neighborhood dog walkers and their dogs, and the many people that come to visit Fairhaven,” the post states.
No exact closing day has been announced.
“I may be impartial but I loved your store and there are some product lines that are so NW that I never find anywhere else. It has been a nice addition to Fairhaven that has such a great Bellingham/Fairhaven vibe. It must come with some sadness to close but I hope you feel proud of what you built and contributed to the community. Thank you,” one Facebook user commented on the post.
Bay to Baker Trading Company is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday at 911 Harris Ave. in Bellingham’s historic Fairhaven neighborhood.
