Gas prices drop in Whatcom Co. and Bellingham; Washington third-highest state in the nation
Gas prices in Whatcom County and Bellingham have decreased this month, and we found the cheapest gas station in Whatcom County for you to save at the pump.
The average price of a gallon of gas across the United States was $3.06 on Monday, Jan. 6, according to AAA — 4 cents more than last month’s average.

Washington gas prices
Washington’s average cost of gas per gallon is now $3.90 — a 7-cent decrease from December’s average of $3.97. Last January, gas averaged $4.09 a gallon in Washington, 19-cents above the current average, according to AAA.
Washington has the third-highest gas prices in the country, following California at $4.38 a gallon and Hawaii at $4.54 a gallon, according to AAA.
Whatcom County gas prices
Whatcom County’s average cost of gas is $3.80 a gallon, an 8-cent decrease compared to December.
On Monday, Jan. 6, Bellingham’s average gallon of gas cost $3.80, according to AAA, a 9-cent decrease from last month’s average of $3.89.
