Whatcom Roundup: Three new restaurants planned; November events and trivia on tap
Here’s your weekly roundup of the latest retail, business and restaurant activity in and around Whatcom County:
New restaurant planned in Bellingham
A license has been filed for “Hey Dumplin’ LLC,” a new restaurant serving beer and wine at 1263 Barkley Blvd Suite 102 in Bellingham, the current location of Taqueria Tecalitlan Mexican restaurant. The license had not been approved as of Nov. 14.
Pizza truck opening next year
Queens of Fire Pizza, a wood fire pizza truck in Birch Bay, plans to open in 2025, according to a recent Facebook post. No official opening date has been announced but owners suggested a date “right after the New Year.”
New Ferndale restaurant
A new restaurant will open in the Silver Reef Casino in Ferndale next month. The Cantina, a Mexican restaurant and bar, will open in December, but no official opening date has been announced. The restaurant’s menu includes carne asada fries, margaritas, tacos, taco salads, burritos and loaded nachos. The Cantina will be open from 4 to 10 p.m. Thursday through Sunday, according to the casino’s website. Silver Reef Casino is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and is open 24 hours a day on weekends at 4876 Haxton Way in Ferndale.
