Two Bellingham businesses closing permanently due to ‘finances and lack of business downtown’
Two Bellingham businesses will be closing on Saturday, Nov. 30 after four years of business, both owned by one local entrepreneur.
Inga Elvrom, owner of Waffles in Paradise, a catering food business often at the Bellingham Farmers Market, and PNWaffle Boutique, a brick-and-mortar gift shop showcasing local artisans, has decided to close both her businesses at the end of the month, “due to finances and lack of business downtown,” Elvrom said.
“I would like to thank the City of Bellingham and all our lovely PNW’ers for their support of our locally owned and operated businesses! Being here has been a joyous experience and I am grateful for the opportunity to have met many wonderful artists & friends during the past 4 years,” Elvrom said.
The PNWaffle Boutique, located at 1230 Cornwall Ave., next door to Hotel Leo, featured gifts and art from 40 local artisans, according to Elvrom. Waffles in Paradise was known for it’s fresh waffles at the farmers market, along with selling dry waffle mixes.
PNWaffle Boutique will continue to be open during its regular operating hours until it closes permanently on Saturday, Nov. 30. It is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday at 1230 Cornwall Ave.
