Whatcom Roundup: New Bellis Fair shop; Chipotle drive-through open; bistro’s anniversary sale

Here’s your weekly roundup of the latest retail, business and restaurant activity in and around Whatcom County:

New shop open in Bellis Fair mall

Cusp Apothecary, a homemade home goods store, opened in the Bellis Fair mall this month. The shop is owned and run by Stephanie Sherman, who creates her own products in the shop, including wine glasses, candles, stickers and more.

“We’ve opened a $12 DIY charm bracelet bar that’s been a hit with all ages, 14k or 925 plated paperclip chain you choose up to 6 charms to add and make it your own,” Sherman wrote in an email to The Bellingham Herald.

A candle bar is also in the works, according to Sherman.

Cusp Apothecary is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Monday, and plans to extend its hours to 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily in the winter.

Bellis Fair mall is at 1 Bellis Fair Pky.

New Chipotle drive-through opens

Chipotle, the chain Mexican restaurant known for its build-your-own burritos, has opened a second Bellingham location.

According to the restaurant’s website, the restaurant is now open and even has a drive-through for pick-up orders.

Chipotle at 104 Samish Way is open from 10:45 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.

Luna’s Bistro offers 50% off

Luna’s Bistro restaurant in Barkley Village is hosting it’s annual “Cash Day” sale to celebrate the restaurant’s 10th anniversary, offering 50% your total bill if you pay with cash, according to an email from the restaurant’s owner, Jesse Cantu.

The “Cash Day” deal will run all day on Monday, Sept. 9 only.

Luna’s Bistro is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday through Saturday at 3004 Cinema Pl.

Senior living community reopens

Solstice Senior Living, a senior living community, had its grand reopening ceremony on Aug. 22 after completing renovations.

“It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces and meet new ones at our grand reopening,” Executive Directory David Kiefer wrote in a news release. “We’re excited about the fresh look of our community and loved connecting with everyone in our inviting, new space. We can’t wait to welcome even more residents and continue building a lively, dynamic community together.”
