Whatcom Roundup: New brewery opening, bakery reopens with a ‘donut wall’ & local events

District Brewing hiring for new location

District Brewing, a brewery and restaurant with locations in Ferndale and Mount Vernon, filed a liquor license for a restaurant in Lynden, according to previous reporting by The Bellingham Herald. The brewery is now hiring for multiple positions online, such as cashier, beertender and cook.

Wink Wink files liquor license application

Wink Wink, a sex shop in downtown Bellingham, has filed an application for a liquor license to add a snack bar to the shop. The application was filed on Feb. 12 and was posted at the shop on Feb. 23, but has not been approved as of Feb. 27.

Wink Wink is open from noon to 6 p.m. daily at 1302 Commercial St. in Bellingham.

Just Desserts reopens with new look and menu

Just Desserts, a bakery in Lynden has reopened and now has new sweets to enjoy, as well as an updated restaurant space.

The upgrades include a donut wall, and new menu items such as a peanut butter and jelly cupcake, a Dutch mocha roll cake and new cake, cookies and bar recipes.

Just Desserts is open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, and 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday at 1724 Front St. in Lynden.
