Bellingham hot sauce company to be featured on popular YouTube show ‘Hot Ones’
Bellingham’s own Funky’s Hot Sauce, known for its spicy flavor and being named as the grand world champion in the New York City Hot Sauce Expo, is now joining a popular YouTube show featuring some of your favorite celebrities.
“Hot Ones,” a talk show hosted by Sean Evans who interviews celebrities while they attempt to eat chicken wings with a variety of hot sauces is now adding Funky’s Hot Sauce to its spicy lineup.
The popular talk show has featured celebrities such as Stephen Curry, Keke Palmer, Bryan Cranston, Lizzo, Pedro Pascal and Margot Robbie. The Bellingham hot sauce will be featured throughout the show’s 23rd season, among nine other sauces.
“Stellar Fuzz” is Funky’s best-selling hot sauce that will be featured on the show. The sauce has also won three awards.
Matthew Mini, the owner of Funky’s Hot Sauce Factory, started the business in 2019, and since then has created sixteen non-GMO, vegan and gluten free sauces. Some sauces are also gluten free.
The company also strives to support local businesses by using Whatcom County and Skagit County farmers for its ingredients.
The first episode of Hot Ones season 23 will air on the YouTube channel on Thursday, Jan. 25.
For those who dare to try the season’s lineup of hot sauces, sampler packs of the 10 sauces can be purchased online for $120. Funky’s hot sauces can be purchased online for $10-12 a bottle on the company’s website. Funky’s Hot Sauce Factory is also on Instagram and Facebook.
