Bellis Fair mall welcomes local vendor market, just in time to shop small for the holidays

While you may be looking for the perfect gifts for your loved ones this holiday season, the Bellis Fair mall is now bringing local vendors and artisans to the mall with unique gift ideas.

The Pacific Arts Market, a handmade art vendor market where “everything is lovingly hand made by the artists” will be at the mall the first three weekends of December. This is the first year the market will be hosted at the mall. It will provide Whatcom County locals a unique setting to shop for holiday gifts.

“What sets Pacific Arts Market aside from other retail spaces is that you can shop from and visit directly with the artisans who have made the products. We do not have a centralized point of sale, which means that every single artist is on site the days we are open,” Saragrace Wyckoff, marketing co-chair for the market, wrote in an email to The Bellingham Herald.

“Your dollars have more impact when you shop local. When you shop Pacific Art Market, you are keeping revenue streams in your community, and there are so many unique and well-made treasures to choose from,” Wyckoff wrote.

The market plans to have about 40 vendors with a wide variety of products. The market will have pottery, jewelry, bath and body products, food, wood burning, up cycled decor, woodwork, desserts, photography and art.

“We provide a happy vibe and atmosphere for all of our customers. We are proud of what we make, and we genuinely like each other. When you come in to visit at Pacific Arts Market, you’re walking into a friendly community of artisans who support each other,” Wyckoff wrote.

The Pacific Arts Market will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 1-3, 8-10 and 15-17 in the former DSW shoes location in the Bellis Fair mall, between JCPenney and Buffalo Wild Wings at One Bellis Fair Parkway in Bellingham.
