New chain spa and salon coming to downtown Bellingham, Western grad as CEO
Gene Juarez Salons and Spas, a Pacific Northwest-based wellness salon chain, will be opening a new location in Bellingham at the end of August.
The spa and salon chain was started by Gene Juarez, but now has a Western Washington University graduate, Katie Trent, as the CEO.
“As a Western grad, I am personally thrilled to bring our Pacific Northwest heritage brand to this special community. Gene Juarez has been dedicated to serving the region for more than 50 years, and we are excited about the opportunity to grow organically into new communities. We look forward to bringing our signature beauty and personal care services to guests in Bellingham’s vibrant and unique downtown area,” Trent wrote in a news release.
The new salon and spa is the company’s first location in the North Cascades area and will be located on Railroad Avenue in the previous location of Toni and Guy Hairdressing Academy.
Guests can enjoy salon services such as hair cuts, color and extensions as well as skincare services, waxing, and eyelash and eyebrow services at the new location.
The company also strives to expand its efforts in environmental sustainability. Since 2015, the company has diverted over 95% of its salon waste from landfills and provides carbon neutral beauty services since 2021, according to the news release.
The salon and spa will open on Wednesday, Aug. 30, and will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. Gene Juarez Salons and Spa will be at 1411 Railroad Ave in Bellingham.
