Business tidbits: New brewery coming, mini golf opens, and don’t forget Whatcom festivals
Here’s a roundup of the latest retail, business and restaurant activity in and around Whatcom County:
New brewery announces opening
Larrabee Lager Company, the newest brewery in Bellingham, has announced its opening date after months of preparation. The business will open on Friday, Aug. 4, and have an grand opening party through Sunday, Aug. 6.
The brewery is located at 4151 Meridian St. in Bellingham.
Mini golf course opens at The Portal
The Portal Container Village at Bellingham’s waterfront has added a new activity to its lineup, Portal Putt miniature golf. Visitors can play nine holes for $8 for adults or $6 for children ages 4-12, or play 18 holes for $10 for adults or $8 for kids. Children ages 3 and under play for free with a paying adult.
The mini golf course is open from 11 a.m. to dusk daily through October at 296 W. Laurel St.
Tattoo shop reopening and expanding
Empress Tattoo has moved and has added an oddities shop and art gallery to its new tattoo shop. The Grand opening event will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 15 at 5682 3rd Ave. in Ferndale.
Greek restaurant closed for renovations
Mykonos Restaurant and Lounge is closed until July 20 as the kitchen is redone. On July 20, the restaurant will resume normal hours. The restaurant is regularly open from 3-9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday, and is at 1650 West Bakerview Rd. in Bellingham.
