After nearly 20 years of being a Bellingham staple, The Lucky Monkey gift shop is closing its doors as its owner, Will Davis, plans to retire from the “monkey business.”

The shop will stay open one more week for a retirement sale and have its last operating day on Tuesday, June 20.

“After nearly 20 years of monkey business I have decided to retire. Has not been an easy decision. The Lucky Monkey has been a labor of love and enjoyed by many loyal followers. And it is hard to let it go,” Davis wrote in an email to The Bellingham Herald.

Between June 21-30 Davis will clean out the shop and possibly sell displays and office equipment, Davis said.

The gift shop is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily and is at 312 W Champion St. in Bellingham.

For more information, call Davis at 360-223-2743 or email luckymonkeygifts@gmail.com.
