Here’s a roundup of the latest retail and restaurant activity around Whatcom County:

New med spa opening

A new med spa will open in Bellingham on Monday, March 20. The spa is run by a team of registered nurses and estheticians and provides skin evaluations and treatments, wellness IV therapy, vitamin injections and dermal fillers, according to an email from Tracy Price, a nurse at Inua Med Spa. The spa is part of a small chain that has additional locations in Orlando, Florida, and Everett and Snohomish in Washington. Inua Med Spa will have its grand opening from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday. Appointments can be made online or by calling 360-863-6696. The spa is open from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and is at 303 Telegraph Road.

Quantum Leaf under new ownership

Talia Sorinsin-Allen and Melissa Sorinsin, a mother-daughter team, have purchased Quantum Leaf, a vegan and vegetarian restaurant in Bellingham from its original owners. The new owners bought the restaurant, recipes and official name of the business, and are planning on making some major changes, according to an email from Sorinsin-Allen. As the menu will not change much under the new ownership, the new owners plan to change the name of the restaurant and will announce it on social media.

The restaurant is currently closed during the transition but hopes to open in early April, as long as all permits are approved, according to Sorinsin-Allen. The restaurant will keep its previous hours and will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday through Sunday, and is at 1149 N. State St.

Piroshky Piroshky pop-up in Bellingham

Piroshky Piroshky, a Seattle-based Eastern European bakery, is bringing its pastries to Bellingham for one day only on Sunday, March 26. Customers must order their pastries online in advance and then head to Lummi Bay Market to watch their pastries baked and pick them up from noon to 3 p.m. A minimum order of $40 is required, and orders must be placed by 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 25. The on-site baking and pick-up location is at 4839 Rural Ave.

Kulshan Brewing welcomes food trucks

Instead of rotating food trucks, Kulshan Brewing has named a “resident” food truck at each of its locations that will exclusively serve food at the breweries.

Kulshan’s Sunnyland location will have the Greektown food truck outside from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. The Sunnyland brewery is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday at 2238 James St. in Bellingham.

Kulshan’s Roosevelt K2 brewery will have the Ah! Chihuahua Taco Truck serving food daily. No food truck hours are listed on Kulshan’s website, but the brewery is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday, and is at 1538 Kentucky St. in Bellingham.
