New Thai restaurant opens, beloved eatery returns and a unique toffee shop featured on TV

Here’s a roundup of the latest retail and restaurant activity around Whatcom County:

New Thai restaurant

Wanida Thai Bistro, an authentic Thai restaurant, opened in Bellingham on Feb. 10 at 3200 Northwest Ave. The restaurant is open from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4:30-10 p.m. daily, and serves dishes such as spring rolls, pad thai, seafood curry and sweet and sour chicken.

Ferndale toffee shop

Anytime Toffee, a family-owned shop in Ferndale, was featured on King 5’s evening show for its unique toffee flavors like cinnamon white toffee, espresso bean dark chocolate toffee and lavender white toffee. The shop is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and by appointment only on Saturday, and is at 5701 Third Ave.

Restaurant reopens

Pepper Sisters, a southwestern restaurant announced it will reopen Wednesday, Feb. 15, after closing in October for renovations and other work. The restaurant also announced an updated menu with items such as chicken elote enchiladas, red chili pesto vegetable burritos and yam tacos. Pepper Sisters will be open from 4-9:30 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday and is at 1055 N. State St. in Bellingham.
