The closure of the downtown Bellingham Rite Aid store is a temporary one, but it is unclear when it will reopen.

The store, is at 1400 Cornwall Ave., was temporarily closed on Saturday, May 7, because the building needed some maintenance, said Alicja Wojczyk, a spokeswoman for the company.

“Our teams are working diligently to ensure this location reopens in the very near future – customers can check our website for updates,” Wojczyk said in an email.

Wojczyk did not have an estimate on when the downtown Rite Aid would reopen; the website indicated that it will be closed at least through the weekend. The company has four other Rite Aid stores in Bellingham— on 36th Street, Northwest Avenue, Telegraph Road and Sunset Drive.
