Here’s a roundup of recent retail activity around Whatcom County:

After being closed for more than three months because of smoke damage, the Michaels craft store at 4383 Meridian St. reopened on Friday, Jan. 28.

The fire took place in an outside cardboard compactor on Saturday, Oct. 23. The damage was extensive enough that all of the inventory was taken out and the store was restocked, said Adam Krell, manager of consumer communications for the company

The 28 employees were given the opportunity to work during the closure restocking the store, Krell said in an email.

The Cocoanut Grove Sports Bar & Grill is planning to reopen on Tuesday, Feb. 1, according to a post on its Facebook business page. The sports bar, which is at 710 Marine Drive, shut down after a water pipe burst in late December during the arctic freeze that hit Whatcom County.

Holly’s Meat Pies in Everson and downtown Bellingham will be closed Feb. 1-7 for a short winter break.

The Edward Jones office operated by Tim Villhauer in Fairhaven will soon be in some new digs, but it’s only a short move.

The office, which is currently at 1514 12th St. in the former Stanello’s restaurant building, will be moving to the office building at 1200 Old Fairhaven Parkway, Suite 104. The office is expected to be in its new spot on Wednesday, Feb. 2.
