Here’s a roundup of new construction projects going through the Bellingham planning process:

Plans appear to be moving forward on building a 64-room hotel in Fairhaven.

The proposed project is at 1514 12th St., near the Fairhaven Haggen store. The proposed hotel would also have eight residential units, a conference room, a restaurant and parking spaces under the building. The property is owned by the Uy Family Limited Partnership.

The project is in the early stages of the planning process, with a neighborhood meeting scheduled for Thursday, May 26, according to documents submitted to the city.

Plans were submitted for a couple of significant residential projects on the undeveloped land north of WinCo Foods.

The first is a four-story, 72-unit apartment building on the corner of Deemer Road and E. Bellis Fair Parkway. The proposal includes plans for underground parking and a sports court. A Zoom meeting is being held to discuss the project at 6 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 24. Details about the Zoom meeting can be found on the city’s website.

Next to that property, plans were submitted to build 50 tiny homes. A public hearing will be held on Zoom at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 26, to talk about a proposed street variance for the project.

A design review meeting was recently held for a proposed residential building at 1000 N. Forest St.

The proposal calls for a four-story, 56-unit residential building for senior housing. It includes a 5,100-square-foot childcare center. A two-story office building would be demolished to make way for this project. The ground floor will have 28 parking spaces. The owner of the property is the Opportunity Council.
