Whatcom’s Tiger Construction expands by buying this Bellingham construction firm
Tiger Construction has bought a longtime Bellingham firm as it continues to grow in the local private construction market.
In a news release, Tiger announced it has acquired Pearson Construction, which has been in the Pacific Northwest since 1927. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Scott Isenhart, president of Tiger, said that Pearson shares common values that made the acquisition a good fit. Pearson is known for its residential and commercial projects, particularly high-end homes. For example, Pearson Construction built a home on Orcas Island in 2007 that was purchased by Oprah Winfrey in 2018 for more than $8 million.
Tiger Construction, founded in 1974 and based near Everson, is known for road and public projects including schools. Examples include Bellingham’s Options High School building and the student housing facility at Whatcom Community College.
“Pearson has a long history of successfully completing high-quality custom home projects that align with the Tiger project philosophy,” says Isenhart in the news release. “I could not be more excited to welcome the Pearson owners, team members and brand into the Tiger family.”
