Here’s a roundup of recent restaurant and retail activity around Whatcom County:

Repairs were recently completed at Brandywine Kitchen and the downtown Bellingham restaurant reopened after a May 20 fire. The restaurant started off with take-out orders only, but is expected to transition into its regular dining services soon.

A state liquor license permit application was filed for a new taphouse in downtown Bellingham. The proposed business is called Time & Materials Taphouse and is going in at 954 N. State St., next to the Stateside student housing building. Also making plans to go into that part of town are Otherside Bagels, which is going into the Stateside building at 903 N. State St., and Darach Brewing Co., which is planning to open in 2022 at 1015 N. State St.

Luna’s Bistro & Lounge is celebrating its seventh anniversary with a 50% off the menu price deal on Wednesday, Aug. 18. Customers can qualify for the deal if they pay cash and dine in at the restaurant, which is near the Barkley Regal movie theater. Hours are 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Infusion Cuisine announced on social media that the restaurant staff will be taking a short summer break, reopening the business on Thursday, Aug. 26.

Muto Izakaya announced on social media that it will discontinue lunch service for now as it deals with the worker shortage. The new hours for the downtown restaurant at 105 E Chestnut St. are 4-9 p.m., closed on Tuesday.

A Bellingham building permit application was submitted to put in a new retail store at Bakerview Square, called Soul Sisters Unique Boutique.
