A downtown Bellingham Bible software solutions technology company has acquired another firm, adding more content for its customers.

Faithlife announced in a news release on Monday, Sept. 21, that it has acquired Wordsearch Bible from LifeWay Christian Resources. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

For users of Faithlife’s software Logos, it means the ability to purchase thousands of new resources for Bible study. Along with the new products, Faithlife is also bringing in more than seven Wordsearch employees into the company.

“Bringing Wordsearch users to Logos Bible Software is certainly a cause for celebration,” said Faithlife Vice President of Bible Study Products Phil Gons in the news release. “The new content available to both Wordsearch and Logos users will be a great aid to their Bible study and sermon preparation, and we are grateful that LifeWay is equally thrilled about what this means for everyone who studies the Bible.”

Wordsearch employees joining Faithlife will be able to do so from their current locations. Wordsearch’s headquarters is in Austin, Texas, but has employees in other parts of the country, including Nashville, Tennessee.

Faithlife officials said sales have been strong during this COVID-19 pandemic as pastors and others in churches adjust to finding new ways to reach out to congregations. Along with increased use of Logos Bible software, Faithlife also launched a live stream product and introduced new tools for website development. Students are also turning more to digital resources, according to the company.

Faithlife, which moved to Bellingham in 2002 from Oak Harbor, currently employs 294 people in Washington with most of them in the Bellingham headquarters. Across the company Faithlife employs 373 people, with 33 in Arizona and the rest working in other states.
