A new apartment building is being proposed for the Fairhaven neighborhood

Plans are in the works for a new apartment building in Fairhaven.

A design review permit application was submitted to build a three-story, 26-unit apartment building at 1215 Mill Ave. The proposal, called Orca Building Phase 2, is next to the completed commercial Orca Building.

The apartment building plans on having 29 under-building parking spaces.

This proposal is an update in response to changes requested by city staff and other entities, said Architect David Christensen of Christensen Design Management. The original plan had 31 apartment units. If this proposal gets through the permitting process without further changes, Christensen anticipates construction starting this spring.
