This Bellingham-built boat will help Texas Fish and Wildlife patrol the Gulf of Mexico
Texas Fish and Wildlife Department agents got a look at their new Bellingham-built boat, the “Captain Murchinson,” Friday, Jan. 31, at Squalicum Harbor.
All American Marine built the 79-foot-long, aluminum-hull catamaran that will be used by the law enforcement division of Texas Fish and Wildlife to patrol the Gulf of Mexico. Its purpose will vary from combating shrimp poaching to helping scientists for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Atmospheric Administration and Customs and Border Patrol Agents, according to Branson Lamb, marketing manager at All American Marine.
About 45 employees spent nine months building the boat, which is named after an early Texas game warden.
All American Marine was recently selected to complete service-life extensions on a number of U.S. Coast Guard motor lifeboats, according to a recent press release from the company.
