A Ferndale manufacturer has landed key licensing contract with national shoe company

A Ferndale manufacturer recently signed a key licensing agreement with a national shoe company.

Superfeet announced in a news release that it secured a license agreement with New Balance for its shoe insoles. Superfeet’s insoles will now be available in New Balance’s stores nationwide and on its website.

Along with the standard sizes, the insoles sold through New Balance will include the custom-built option, which is made in Superfeet’s Flowbuilt manufacturing facility in Ferndale. Flowbuilt is right next to Superfeet’s headquarters at 1820 Scout Place.

Flowbuilt is a 43,000-square-foot facility that opened in the spring 2018. The goal of that facility is to expand the company’s production of the custom-built insoles. Customers are able to send in data after using the company’s FitStations, which are in retail stores across the U.S., including Fairhaven Runners & Walkers.

When selecting Superfeet, New Balance vice president of accessories and licensing Christine Madigan noted in the news release that they look for companies committed to serving athletes, adding that Superfeet has earned that trust with its track record of more than 40 years in the industry.

Superfeet is an employee-owned company, with a workforce of 104 people. The company is known for giving 1% of profits and employee time to non-profit organizations.
