Three residential proposals include apartments and townhouses near WWU and Sunset

The city is reviewing permits for three Bellingham residential proposals and public comments are sought by early January.

Taylor Avenue apartments

A public meeting is being held to discuss plans to add more apartment units to a building at 2300 Taylor Ave.

The building is currently a nine-unit apartment. The proposal would add 10 more units for a total of 19. The additional units would be a mix of one- and two-bedrooms. Parking would also be added to the property.

The community meeting is being held before the developer submits permits. It will start at 6 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 6, in the Gateway Centre building at 1313 E. Maple St. (near Boomer’s Drive-In).

For questions about the meeting, call Francine St. Laurent at 360-527-9445.

Billy Frank Jr. Street apartments

There is a proposal to demolish four single-family homes at 1200-1212 Billy Frank Jr. St. to make way for two three-story buildings that would have a total of 30 new apartment units.

According to a design plan, each unit would have three bedrooms. Forty-seven parking spaces are proposed to be built behind the two buildings.

A public meeting is being held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 8 in the Gateway Centre Executive Suites at 1313 E. Maple St. The public meeting is required before the developer can apply for permits, including a design review permit.

For questions about the meeting, call Jack Bloss at 360-527-9445.

Track Street townhomes

Applications were submitted to build 23 townhouse units on Track Street, which is near East Sunset Drive.

Street improvements are required to East Sunset Drive and 4150 Track St., near Toad Creek.

The applicant is Bill Geyer of Geyer and Associates. Comments or requests for more information can be sent to Kathy Bell, senior planner, at kbell@cob.org. Comments are due Friday, Jan. 10.
