Coming to Bellingham, a new art store and an ax-throwing venue

Here’s a roundup of recent Whatcom County retail activity:

A former Stampadoodle employee has opened her own arts and craft store. Elli Anderson recently opened Art and Happiness on the corner of North State and East Champion streets, inside the Bellingham Music store. Along with arts and craft products, the store offers classes.

Anderson worked at Stampadoodle for seven years before it closed earlier this year. Details about Art and Happiness can be found on its website.

The Vault Wine Bar in Blaine has made a slight name change. Now known as The Vault Wine Bar and Bistro to make clear they also have a food menu, according to its Facebook post. The Vault is at 277 G. St., in Blaine’s downtown district.

A building permit application was submitted for a new ax-throwing venue called Bellingham Axe. The business is slated to go into 1414 Cornwall Ave., next to Bellingham Bar and Grill. According to the Bellingham Axe website, the business is aiming to open sometime in early 2020. Updates are also being posted on its Facebook page.
