A Bellingham engineering firm will be under new leadership starting in January
A Bellingham engineering firm that regularly does work in local refineries will be under new leadership beginning in January.
Anvil Corporation announced on Wednesday, Dec. 18, that John Mahoney is being promoted to company president while Dan Lewis will take over as chief financial officer.
Mahoney will succeed Anvil’s current president, Gordy Lidell. Lidell, who has held the position since 2014, will become chairman of Anvil’s board of directors. Mahoney joined Anvil in 2014 as a project manager and was most recently manager of the company’s BP Cherry Point Program.
Lewis will succeed Rob Farrow, who is retiring from Anvil but will serve on the board.
Anvil currently employs 275 people in Bellingham and has 480 workers company-wide. It has branch offices in Alaska, Montana, California and Colorado. The company offers engineering, design and project management services, particularly in the energy industry. It has worked in the local oil refineries at Cherry Point and Anacortes on a variety of large projects.
No other immediate changes are planned for the company. Anvil, which has had an employee stock ownership plan since 1996, is headquartered in Bellingham near the airport. It was founded in 1971.
