Landmark Whatcom foothills restaurant set to reopen with the Mother Clucker

After more than two months of renovations, Graham’s Historical Restaurant in Glacier is ready to reopen.

New owner Shirley Schmidt is planning a noon opening on Friday, Dec. 20. Once open at 9989 Mount Baker Highway the restaurant will serve lunch and dinner, as well as have a full-service bar.

The restaurant is a foothills landmark that first opened in the early 1900s. Schmidt, who worked at Graham’s for five years, took over the business at the end of September and closed it to make some renovations. She’s been working to bring back some of the things that make it more like the Graham’s people remember from the 1970s and 1980s.

The menu includes some popular items from the past: the chicken sandwich called Mother Clucker and the World Famous Gable Burger.

Details, including the menu, can be found on Graham’s website.
