Here’s a roundup of recent retail activity in Whatcom County:

At Home, the home decor superstore that’s going into the former Kmart space at Sunset Square, is aiming for a spring opening. That’s according to the signs near the store.

Bellingham Coffee Roasters introduced a steeped, single-use coffee bag. Using a method known for tea, the steeped bag is nitro-sealed, removing any air and having a shelf life of six months, according to a news release. Dropping the bag in some hot water will do the trick. The product is available online and on Saturdays at the Bellingham Farmers Market.

Dirty Dan Harris Steakhouse recently announced an ownership change on Facebook. Steve and Kathy Papadakis are retiring at the beginning of December after 23 years. The new owner is Paul Han, who plans to keep things the same, including keeping the current staff in place. Steve and Kathy Papadakis plan on being around the restaurant throughout December to help with the transition.

Misty Meadows Farm & Ranch near Everson announced on Facebook that the farm will not be open to the general public this year for Christmas trees. The farm is in the midst of planting more trees and encourages its customers to check back in 2020.
