Two favorites to share the love of food with family and friends
It’s that time of year for entertaining — and with guests coming to town, maybe you need some fresh new holiday ideas for entertaining. Here are a couple of places that are worth checking out with the whole family or a night out just for adults.
Ciao Thyme
Ciao Thyme offers a plethora of classes, themed dinners and events that you can add to your calendar — there are kid-friendly events, too. All of the menus are seasonal and are inspired by local ingredients.
Jan. 7 is a Kids in the Kitchen Class where Chef Matio will be teaching kids ages 9-14 how to prepare sushi and stir fry. Spots fill up quickly so be sure to register online as soon as possible.
Check out Ciao Thyme’s website and follow its Instagram to keep up with the latest schedule and details on events. It also offers CT2GO, Ciao Thyme to-go meals to pick up and enjoy with your family and friends. Menus and food orders are posted on their website when it’s available.
Ciao Thyme is at 207 Unity St.
Bellewood Farms
Bellewood Farms is a great place to take the whole family for an afternoon of fun. Located at 6140 Guide Meridian, its Christmas tree lot will be open offering fresh-cut trees from Alpine Meadows through Dec. 24.
Dec. 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22 is Bellewoods Christmas Festival from noon-5 p.m. They will be in full festive swing with bonfires, free cookie decorating, apple cider, sleigh rides, apple cider and free photos with Santa.
As for the grown-ups, the craft distillery tasting room will be open for tastings. An excellent way to taste unique brandy, vodka and gin and maybe get a gift while you’re at it, or grab a bottle to mix up your own cocktails or spiked apple cider at home.
