Kind Doodle ‘Fosters' 7 Kittens-and They Couldn't Love Him More
People who foster pets are some of my favorite people in the world. I don't do it because my dogs aren't very nice, but I wish I could. Fostering saves lives, and if you have the opportunity, you should do it!
One dog mom recently did just that. She has a Sheepadoodle, and when she took in 7 kittens and their mama... That sweet pup took right over. He's their parent now:

Ziggy the Sheepadoodle is so sweet. My favorite part of this is the caption, where she mentions that she was also surprising her husband with these 7 kittens and their mama. Whether he or Ziggy was more surprised remains to be seen, but everybody seems happy.
Ziggy doesn't seem to mind at all that he became the dad/uncle to 7 kittens overnight: he loves them! The kittens aren't quite old enough to be adopted out yet, so they'll be there for a little while longer. He has the best playmates!

The thing with being the foster dad to these kittens is that he's not the one responsible for actually raising them. All Ziggy has to do is teach them the most important thing to do: play! He's doing a great job:

He's just straight up gnawing on that kitten, which is absolutely hilarious. Those kittens will be well-suited to forever homes with dogs, which is always good.
Should You Foster Kittens With Dogs?
If you have dogs, especially a larger breed like Ziggy, you might be a little apprehensive about the idea of fostering kittens. It makes sense, but to be honest, you shouldn't let having a dog hold you back!
Not all dogs will be well-suited to life with kittens, but if they are, it's definitely worth a try. Raising kittens with dogs, even in the short term, offers several benefits:
- The kittens have someone to bond with, which is especially great if they don't have their mom.
- It helps them figure out different ways to play.
- It increases their "adoptability" factor.
A lot of prospective adopters are looking for kittens that would fit in well with their existing dog(s), or they want their kitten to be familiar in case they ever want to get a dog. Luckily, Ziggy is the best!
