Golden Retriever's Blueberry Heist Is Too Cute To Be Upset About
Most gardeners know that leaving their fresh fruit and vegetables unprotected makes them vulnerable to creatures and critters when they're not looking. One Golden Retriever mom recently learned she didn't have to worry about squirrels and rabbits, though. It was her pup who swiped the fresh blueberries right out from under her nose!

Bentley, a 7-year-old Golden Retriever, didn't even try to hide his theft. He just went straight to munching on the blueberries fresh from the potted bush on the patio. As his mom shows us in her recent TikTok video, there was no shame in his game either!

Mom comes over to the Golden, who's busy snacking, and says, "Excuse me! Are you eating my blueberries?" Bentley briefly looks up at her, then goes right back to nibbling. She exclaims, "No! That's not a good boy." As she pets his sweet face, she continues, "You can't eat the blueberries." But it's too late... the damage is done, and Bentley shows no remorse for his actions.

What Fruits Are Safe for Dogs To Eat?
According to the American Kennel Club, many fruits are safe for dogs to eat. Apples, bananas, cantaloupe, raspberries, peaches, oranges, and thankfully, for Bentley, blueberries are all on the list. These fruits offer health benefits, including the nutrients and vitamins your pup needs to stay healthy.
As with anything else, fruits should be fed in moderation, and dog parents should consult their veterinarian with any specific questions about their pup.
What Fruits Are Not Safe for Dogs To Eat?
The AKC also provides a list of fruits that are not safe for dogs to eat. These include grapes, cherries, avocados, and tomatoes. Each of these fruits contains toxins that can make dogs very sick, and if your pup does consume them, you should contact your veterinarian right away.
