Delta Air Lines Has Good News for Travelers
Summer is officially here, and that means it's vacation season. While traveling is supposed to be a fun experience when it involves a vacation, it can turn into a nightmare if there aren't enough routes available. Plus, if your flight gets canceled, the more routes available, the better to get you to your destination.
Now, Delta Air Lines is rolling out some good news for customers. They're adding three new routes, according to a report, and that includes one former JetBlue market.
The report comes from The Points Guy. On Friday, June 26, Edward Russell of the publication shared the news that Delta is strengthening its offerings in New York.
Delta Rolling Out New Routes in 2027
According to the report, SkyTeam will offer new twice daily service from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) starting on April 12, 2027. So, this won't be in time for this summer's travel season but will for next summer.
"The new route will be flown with a standard Airbus A321neo, not the airline's new 44-seat first class seat version," Russell noted.
That's not all. Delta will also offer two new seasonal routes this winter. First, beginning on Saturdays from Nov. 21 through April 10, 2027, flights from Austin Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) to Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) will operate every Saturday. Also, from Dec. 19 through May 2, 2027, flights from New York's LaGuardia Airport (LGA) will run to Melbourne Orlando International Airport (MLB) in Florida Saturdays and Sundays.
"By offering twice-daily flights on our Airbus A321neo, we're delivering more choice, comfort and reliable connectivity between the East and West Coasts," Scott Santoro, vice president of Los Angeles and Sales-West at Delta, said in a statement per the report.
