Mealtime is always an eventful time at home for humans and pets. And some members are more excited when it's time to eat, and your cat is probably one of them.

For this Ragdoll, mealtime isn't just a routine and something that happens on schedule; it's a performance, and she needs to make sure everyone knows it should never be late.

New Day - Oneul

TikToker @lottieandalfie shared a video of Lottie, a very cute Ragdoll cat who has a lot to say when it comes to mealtime. And she's very good at making sure everyone within earshot can hear what she's announcing.

The funniest part of the video is how she prances up with her tail in the happy question mark shape, and while waiting for mom to put the dish of food down, her voice gets louder and louder.

She can see it's time to eat, that her mom has it in her hands and just needs to put it down on the floor so Lottie can reach it, but she's not going to let up until she's actively eating.

Such funny, typical cat behavior!

Why Some Cats Vocalize More Around Mealtime According to Animal Behavior Experts

Lottie definitely lets her family know when she's expecting dinner and even more so if she feels like her meal is late. And if your kitty also loves to vocalize when it's mealtime, the experts say that's a pretty common cat behavior.

According to Kingship, cats start to meow loudly when it's time to eat because they've learned to talk with people, and that it's a strategy that works to get what they want. The experts they spoke to explained that cats have learned that the best way to communicate with people is through these vocalizations, since they communicate with other cats nonverbally. And meowing, and making sure you're paying attention when they do, is how they say what they want. The reason it happens at mealtime, right when you're obviously getting their food ready, is their way of showing off hunger or excitement for a meal-just like kittens do to their mamas.

So, yes, Lottie wants her meal, and maybe she's just enthusiastically saying thank you.
